Feedback to Care Quality Commission (CQC) regarding South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust
The findings from our short survey highlighted a number of significant issues. People voiced concerns about safety and staff numbers, about high bed occupancy and problems with discharge procedures at Lavender Ward. There were also significant concerns over reductions in staffing levels, discharge planning and access to community care. Perhaps most worrying, the findings showed a general distrust over the quality of communication across the Trust as a whole.
Although some elements make for uncomfortable reading, we very much appreciate that the respondents share our passion for high-quality health and social care. South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust has undergone radical changes in its leadership in the past 18 months and real improvements to services are underway. In addition we have plans for major transformational service changes that will improve the overall experience of services users, their families and carers.
We look forward to working with Richmond Healthwatch, and the people who use our services to continue our journey towards delivering good services.
