Working Together for Better Care Event 2015
For the first time, clinicians are working across organisations to create new ways of giving people the care they need. This involves breaking down organisational boundaries to provide coordinated health services in the community.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet the doctors and nurses leading this transformation, and to hear about the changes to care that are happening for people at the end of life, who are frail and elderly, have diabetes, respiratory illnesses or heart conditions.
What was discussed
The panel discussion offered the public an opportunity to have their voice heard about the suggested changes in Richmond.
- There was a fairly even split between positive feedback about the programme and scepticism about whether it could be delivered or would make a meaningful difference to patients.
- Other comments focussed on the need to consider mental health, learning disabilities and to involve the voluntary sector in service development and provision.
